Change is good. This is something I tend to forget when I am too busy keeping up with my baby to even bother washing my face in the morning. I admit, life has changed this year, quite dramatically, and I love every messy hair, no makeup, moment. Funny, I always pictured life as as a mother as being “over”. But life has become more than colorful, and more meaningful. In fact there was a moment where I became sick of the flakey beauty industry, full of phonies, and pretentious and boring repeats. I was ready to move on. Then I realized something, I am fabulous at what I do. I know what I am talking about and I know better than the newbee’s coming in to the industry to try their hand at a “trendy career”…
So, where am I going with this? I’m going to continue to bless you with the honest knowledge and advice about skincare and beauty, in 2010.
Happy Holidays!
Congrats, you’re in the know!

I was recently sent a few new products to test from the makers of Proactive. I was a little taken a back at first seeing as I don’t have acne issues. How was I suppose to properly “test” these products when I was not an acne sufferer? I eventually dug through the box of goods, and was pleased to discover a few “anti-aging” products and some other things I might find useful. Like, a “clearing” body scrub and body “acne” lotion. I don’t have body acne but I figured if it could possibly help with razor bump prevention and even work a little anti-aging magic with the salicylic acid in the ingredients, it was worth a try.
Just as I has suspected it helped smooth any red, bumpy skin I had on my legs or arms, and gasp, dare I say I may think it worked better than KP Duty?.. Also, I think I may be in love with the Vitamin A, and E Eye Treatment, and the pore clearing strips… Not to mention they had a mattifying primer-like product that works as a great base for my make up!
Keep it up Proactive, and spread the love to the rest of your customers. I think they will be very happy with the new product candy!

I am very blessed to have had the experience I have had and work with amazing people. I feel very lucky to be able to share my professional opinion with everyone, and also choose when to share my talents with people, hands on.
That being said, I am so over offering my services and generosity in exchange for the experience to work with unappreciative people. So, if you are like me and are blessed to pick your ”work”. Pick who you offer your services to wisely, and if you get taken advantage of, don’t do favors for that person or company again… Thanks for letting me vent.
xoxo

Here is something I love and can’t live without. GO SMiLE FLASH LiTES, are a must have in your purse/ make-up bag for an evening out, or throughout the day to refresh your smile, and breath. I love them whenever I go out to eat, or have a girls night out and I am drinking red wine. If you are a red wine drinker you know what I am talking about. GO SMiLE FLASH LiTES erase the purple teeth and save your smile. These are a beauty must have, especially if your girlfriends turn into the paparazzi every time you are out on the town with them.

Here is a quick reminder: If you are using any type of anti-aging skin care that contains any sort of acid or exfoliant, use extra caution when you head out into the sun.
Removing the dead skin cells or rapidly sloughing away your top (protective) layer of skin, by using acids or exfoliants, exposes you to more danger than if you were not using the products at all. The reason being is your newer and younger skin cells no longer have the extra layer to protect them. So, the result is even more damage than you had before, if you over expose your fresh skin.
Besides, what’s the point of using anti-agers if you are soaking up the sun anyway?

Well, the jury is out. As a stocking stuffer, I purchased Anastasia’s Brow Enhancing Serumfor my mom in hopes that it would stimulate the inherited barley-there-brow we both suffer from. Not that we weren’t born with lush full brows, just that through the years of “thin is in” for eyebrow’s and several trips to get a brow-wax before tweezing or threading came along, our brows have given up on us and decided to stay frail and thin.
So, when I spotted the Anastasia Brow Serum that promised to help stimulate the regrowth of our over done brows I thought, finally thick beautiful brows again. However, verdict is in and it’s a no-go. Momma still hasn’t seen results three months later. Bummer, I was really crossing my fingers on this one.

One way to instantly add glam to your overall look is lashes. There are a few ways you can add lashes to the ones you already have.
- Strip eyelashes
- cluster/individual lashes
- lash extensions
Personally, I like the strip lashes because they are much quicker to apply and I am usually in a hurry. make sure to measure the stip to your eye before applying, and if it’s too long don’t be afraid to cut it to fit your lash-line.
Clusters, and individual lashes take a little longer and more precision to apply. They aren’t impossible, they just take practice. Be sure to keep the longer, thicker lashes toward the outer corner of the eye, to keep the look as “natural” as possible.
For strip lashes, cluster, and individual you need to also buy glue if your lashes do not come with there own tube. You can buy the glue in clear or black. Also you’ll need a pair of tweezers to help you apply the lashes with more grace. You can also buy a special tool specifically for applying strip eyelashes. This tool looks like a very large and wide pair of tweezers, however, I’d still keep the other tweezers close by.
Lash extensions are individual lashes that are applied professionally and last a few weeks. It’s all the rage in Hollywood, however I would test your eye sensitivity with the more temporary lashes first. I hear lash extensions can be a bit uncomfortable and feel like a perma-wig on top of your eye.
Go for it, glam up those baby blues, or browns and add a little more lash!

It doesn’t seem right. Perfect bodies, and even flawless faces. Magazines and television have airbrushing and special effect teqniques to diffuse any imperfections a model or actress may have. Now, you too can achieve a flawless face for a special night out.
Rather than going to a makeup artist for a makeup application, try an at home application of airbrush-esque foundation and high-defination makeup.

Talk about zapping away wrinkles, yesterday I went to Dr.Youn’s office and had a Laser Facial. What is a Laser Facial and why did I get one, you ask? A Laser Facial is a non-invasive, non-ablative (doesn’t hurt, no down time) treatment that targets the inner-most layers of skin to stimulate the production of new collagen.
So, what happens is, smaller pores, reduces acne, smoother skin, wrinkle reduction, and reduces redness. Basically you’re healing your skin from the inside out. Anyone of any age can have this treatment, it’s even know to help reduce Rosacea symptoms.
Although three to six treatments are the minimum recommendation, you start to feel the effects almost instantly.
